Information about why I started this project

Well where to begin... I guess my little ball of fluff I bought home expecting a fun companion to take everywhere with me and have many adventures and make amazing friends in lots of activities too.

Everything was going so well for the first year we attended puppy, obedience then agility classes twice a week, even tried out some flyball too! We went to several dog and country shows too. He is an amazing dog learnt so quickly and we have a fantastic bond.

However he became fearful of sudden or strange noises, wasn’t sure of approaching people, vehicles made him scared if too close. This brought about these sudden seconds of aggression towards people who tried to touch him or when he came for reassurance sitting on your knee to be as close as possible. He has given me so many highs and lows over the last two years but I have never given up on him because he is amazing and loved so deeply. You wouldn’t give up on a child with a behavioural problem so certainly wasn’t giving up on my boy and wanted to help him to be less scared of our world. I have learnt so much from him and the many specialists I have sort advice from. I train for many different situations and spent months building up trust and muzzle training him so we could go for walks without any worry  of that 1% if but! We was soon met with stares and people moving away from us, but learnt to live with that. Dogs wear muzzles for many reasons so shouldn’t be ostracized. I was missing agility so much and it gave my boy a focus too, using his brain to wear him out. As long as followed with some switch off time to bring him down so not as to overflow his bucket. I knew we couldn’t attend a class as his arousal levels too high....

So... Why not have our own field to practice, learn and have fun in and so it began the beginnings of my idea turning to reality then started growing again to open this up to others!

As having the experience of owning a dog with complex behaviour has made me more aware of the difficulties all dog owners can experience. By opening this venue up to all, I am pleased that I can help other dog owners by providing a safe venue with excellent facilities for them to attend a wide range of dog training classes.

I bought the piece of land a year ago (march 2020) and slowly have managed to turn the ploughed field into somewhere we love to train and I hope you will too !

This may include attending basic obedience classes to learn and improve general manners and control, to attending agility or sentwork classes for fun or to allow you and your dog to perform to your best ability in competitions.

My main aim is to enhance your valuable relationship with your dog, so you can both live your best life together.

If you see me and rusty training or just playing before your session please wait patiently and give him the space he needs. He has come on so much over the last two years, even enjoys his cuddles from me. We have learnt to manage his behaviour and will continue to learn.

Hope our story gives you strength and patience when things feel tough teaching your own dog. They all are unique and just need you to show them how well they doing.

Have fun and enjoy your training,

Ness & my boy
